Summer Camp 2002 - Linlithgow "The Craigs"
In the "summer" of 2002 - you might have remembered it: Edinburgh airport was closed due to heavy rain and thunder storms - the 1st DOM scouts held it's summer camp at "The Craigs" in Bathgate, near Linlithgow.

The Camp Warden said it was the worst summer weather he had seen there in the 40 years he had been associated with the site, but was impressed with the troop's resilience in sticking it out in their own tents, rather than choosing the easy option and retreating into the camp main bunkhouse.

In between thunderstorms and showers we were able to enjoy many of the camp's facilites to practise our abseiling, climbing, pioneering and survival skills as well as trying out new things such as crate-climbing which proved very popular. Some photos of the camp are shown here.
