Over 20 of our Cubs & Scouts (with a couple of Beaver siblings) and an almost equal number of interested dads, mums and leaders took the coach to the annual RAF Leuchars Air Show. Unlike last year, weather conditions were perfect, in fact, almost too perfect with brilliant sunshine making some views quite eye-watering! The crowd this year was, not surprisingly, huge and were entertained by a varied flying display including the RAF Falcons parachute display team, The Cossacks (Yak 52s), a Belgian and Dutch F16s (still perhaps the prettiest aircraft in the skies), The Blades display team (Extra 500s), Team Guinot wingwalkers, A Spitfire, Hurricane and Lancaster Bomber of the "Battle of Britain" Memorial Flight, an SE5 Word War 1-era biplane, Tutor, Viper, Saab Gripen, the enormously loud Vulcan, a Polish Mig 29, The Black Cats display team (Lynx helicopters), Vampire, Meteor, Venom, King Air, Hunter, Sea Hawk, Sea Fury, Tornado, Falcon 20 and of course the RAF Red Arrows display team.
