Welcome to our new website and many thanks to Keith Duncan who helped us get it up and running. All the content from our old website is here, but perhaps arranged slightly differently and with the following new features...
- a new interface powered by the "Joomla" web authoring package
- the ability to "live edit" or add articles while online from anywhere in the world with an internet connection and a suitable user account
- publicly-accessible but with registered users having access to more information
- all photos now stored remotely on Picasa Web Albums (click here)
- "author" status for certain users (i.e. leaders) to allow them to add or edit new articles
- changeable activation and expiry dates on articles so out-of-date news articles "disappear"
- in-built Joomla calendar to check out forthcoming events with optional RSS feed so new events can be e-mailed directly to you as they are added
- registered users can suggest new links
- more interactive features such as polls and direct mailing
- live news "feed" from the Scout Association
