The Colony

	The Beaver Colony The Beaver Colony meets between 4.30pm and 5.30pm on Friday evenings at Meldrum Academy. The Beaver Colony Leaders are Alison Milton, Isobel Reid and Alison Smith.
Most Beaver activities take place indoors but daytime outdoor events for Beavers are occasionally held at the Scouts' and Explorers' campground at Daviot. Sometimes these will be in conjunction with other Beaver Colonies from the district.		There is currently a waiting list to join our Beaver Colony. Please contact our Beaver Leader Alison Smith (01651 872277) who maintains the list.
Beavers form the introductory section to the Scout movement and boys & girls can join Beavers from the age of 6. They then progress to Cubs at the age of eight and from there ultimately on to Scouts and Explorers. The new organisational system for the Scout Association is designed to follow the children right through from Beavers all the way up to Explorers in a more "seamless" manner.
